Technically it's still Friday in California, but where I'm at, it's Saturday 3am . I'm at an airport in Geneva, Switzerland and there is literally NO ONE here! Talk about ghost town! Ariel and I have an 8 hour lay over to Zurich, and after that, a 6 hour wait until we get on a 12.5 hour flight back to SFO. Friends say that it's storming right now, so hopefully this wait will help and there are no delays later. Next time, I'm def going to pay that extra hundred + bucks to avoid these layovers.

Friday was a good last day. Blue skys again like the day before. Ariel and I went around Las Ramblas again. Saw a bunch of cool stuff and probably spent way too much money for my own good. Oh well, when in Rome... errr I mean Spain!
I brought Ariel back to that market place I went to the other day. It's pretty cool seeing outside restaurants where people can see these chefs cook and serve them right then and there.
Las Ramblas was filled with more people and new stuff I didn't see the other days. Vendors selling turtles and chicks...
street performers were at their best, which by the way are so much better than SF's...
and can't forget these swarm of pigeons! These little kids behind me were literally picking them up and tossing them around! I think the pigeons liked the attention!

Today was a gloomy and rainy day. So I didn't get to ride that cable car thing I wanted. But on a lighter note, Ariel was able to join me today, woohoo!
This was the first restaurant where I felt like the food was decent. And the view of Las Ramblas was right behind us, so that was a plus.
Since we didn't get to go on the cable cars today, we decided to actually visit inside Casa Batllo. Out of all the museums and art galleries I visited during my stay, I enjoyed this the best. That Gaude guy had to be on some type of high creating these master pieces all over Barcelona!
This light piece was sitting at the edge of the stairs. Pretty neat.
More stairs...
There were a lot of big pieces like this on the very top of the building. Ariel and I aren't very artsy so we probably didn't appreciate these pieces like other people. Still pretty cool and colorful designs, although all we could think about was how we felt like we were at Scandia!

Today, I walked around Las Ramblas and saw a lot of interesting and cool shops. I wanted to buy everything! The weather was perfect! The sky was blue and the temperature was just right.
I passed through St. Joseph La Boqueria where people sell seafood, fruits, vegetables and candy.
If you don't know me, I really have no sense of direction. It took me over an hour to find the Picaso Museum, to find out I walked in one big circle. On the bright side, I was able to take a bunch of great pictures.
There are a lot of buildings like the one below. I liked this one specifically because of the clothes hanging outside. It's like stuff I see only in the movies and in musicals!
Cute Cactus Plants
I found a cute little ice cream shop on the way to the museum. To tell you the truth, Barcelona food is not as good as I expected. But their desserts are to die for!

Today I toured the Western side of Barcelona. I spent most of my day seeing Barcelona from the top. One memorable moment was seeing Picaso's work at the MNAC museum (National Art Museum of Catalunya). Unfortunately, because his paintings are from a private collection, I wasn't able to capture any of his paintings. I'm going to try to visit the Picaso museum tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get some good footage. For now, here are some highlights of my day. Enjoy!

A great view from the Miramar Gardens. Breathtaking views!
@ The Olympic Stadium where they held the Olympic games in 1992.
MNAC- Currency in Emporion in the 2nd and 1st Centuries BC.
MNAC- Gran Ballarina sculpted by Pau Gargallo 1929
MNAC- I forgot to jot down this artist description, but looks pretty saucy right?
Outside of MNAC. You can see the famous Motnjuic's Magic Fountains. This place looks amazing at night. You can see the Mobile World Congress going on in the background.
Yesterday, I didn't get to go on top of Mt. Tibidabo because I was exhausted. But I got to take a quick picture of it today. I laugh every time the tour guide talks about it because I think about FRIENDS and the episode where Ross and Rachel dispute about who came onto whom.

Today I went on a 6 hour tour to see the Eastern side of Barcelona. It was exhausting and I'm doing it all over again tomorrow, but its all worth it! Again, a lot of jaw dropping buildings and scenery.
Happy Valentines Day, from the most romantic place on earth!
